An ML Mentor is a long-time Municipal Liaison (past or present) who assists new MLs by giving advice, answering questions, and other mentorly duties. While all returning MLs may give advice to new MLs when it's requested, ML Mentors offer new MLs a specific person to ask, as opposed to asking a question into the ether.
Since the ML Mentor's duties happen primarily within the ML community, many Wrimos do not know of the ML Mentor's existence. ML Mentors are thanked publicly on their NaNoWriMo profiles with a ML Mentor profile badge.
