Writing Challenges
- Not to be confused with writing challenges that span a longer period.
Writing Challenges (formerly Word Wars, Prompts, & Sprints before September 2019) is the name of one of the forums found within the Reaching 50K forum. It was founded in 2006 in the Life During NaNo forum category as a place for Wrimos to take and leave prompts as well as to seek word wars and buddies for the same.
NaNoWriRolls were popular in the forum's early days. These worked like Rickrolls, where the post title would be misleading, and then the post itself would say to go write. These were annoying and disallowed by 2013[1].
Interestingly, well-known prompts such as dares, Mr. Ian Woon, and the Traveling Shovel of Death are typically found in the Reaching 50,000 forum.
