Delete vs. move

Some of the pages that have been marked as deleteable are more easily dealt with as movable. This is particularly the case for region pages that have simply been renamed. Bristol & Bath vs Bristol & Somerset for one (which was just a rename). What do you think? Sushimustwrite (talk) 16:51, 6 October 2012 (UTC)

I don't mind - however you want to standardise what happens to obsolete pages will be right. The question I have is, if you're marking an obsolete page (such as Bristol & Bath) as movable, where is it movable to? The trash? I'd personally mark it as deletable, then there's no question as to what I want doing with a page, but it's your choice. --Scaddy (talk) 15:29, 7 October 2012 (UTC)
Maybe I should have looked at what you'd done first :-) The redirect works just as well. I'm happy to go with that. --Scaddy (talk) 15:32, 7 October 2012 (UTC)
Yep, some regions have just been renamed. I don't plan on deleting old regions as these old regions have a history and part of this site's purpose is to be an archive. Some get merged, some get split, a few get deleted, some just get renamed... Yeah, turns out regions are complex. I have the spreadsheets for all these changes over the past two years and will be working through them. Turns out quite a bit happened with England's regions over the past couple of years, though--I know Devon/Cornwall split into two separate regions this year for one. -Sushimustwrite (talk) 15:47, 7 October 2012 (UTC)
I don't suppose you have the stats for the England regions for last year? I didn't manage to copy them all before the reset. --Scaddy (talk) 21:00, 9 October 2012 (UTC)
I didn't, unfortunately. Thought I did. There has been talk of a NaNo site archive, but we'll see if/when that happens. -Sushimustwrite (talk) 22:15, 9 October 2012 (UTC)
