I'm a young writer from London, England with a pretty ordinary background. As well as writing, my hobbies include reading, ballet, music and archery, and I'm a fan of computers and technology, though they do not appear to be a fan of me. If something can break, it will break. When I'm not doing any of the above, I’ll be blogging over three different blogs, making YouTube videos, or aggravating my family.

I spend far too much time on Tumblr, generally reblogging anything relating to Doctor Who, Torchwood, or Sherlock. I'm also a fan of Marvel’s Avengers, with a soft spot for Loki. Finally, I love mythology – Celtic, Norse, or, well, anything else, really.

My music tastes vary from My Chemical Romance to Shostakovich, taking in a lot of the stuff in between. For writing I prefer film soundtracks, although often I find inspiration in Celtic music.

My short story The Eagle Child was published in volume one of the Saffina Desforges Presents… Coffee Break Collections in November 2011, and I am one of the co-authors of 'St Mallory's Forever!', a YA mystery set in a boarding school, coming soon. :D

NaNoWriMo and Me

I joined National Novel Writing Month on November 7th 2009, having heard of it but never been told what it was. Following a link on Protagonize, I found the site and signed up immediately.

This, of course, meant that I was a week and approximately 10 000 words behind target, so I tried to catch up. However, I had no plot, no characters -- not even a genre. I finished my novel 15 days later. It had several characters, a clear genre and even some semblence of a plot. Well, I never!

In 2010 I wrote 193,000 words despite school, music and dance. In 2011 I took part in both sessions of Camp and completed the 50k every time, as well as writing around 75k in November. I write too much.

For 2012 I'm working on Camp in June and planning to do November's session of full NaNo as well, but I don't yet know if I'll be able to do August Camp.

Script Frenzy and Me

2010 - Worked with a partner on a script that was mainly just for fun (neither of us had ever written a script before). Completed that in time. 2011 - Worked on a script for an adaptation of Terry Pratchett's "Mort" with a partner (I wrote the whole script, he wrote the songs). Got over 100 pages, but never finished the script. 2012 - Had been planning an ep of Doctor Who, but wasn't able to take part due to other commitments.
