The Europe :: France :: Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region was created in 2015 as France :: Rhône-Alpes when France split into three regions. It covers the southern parts of France, particularly the areas bordering Switzerland and Italy. The region was renamed to Europe :: France :: Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes in 2017.
