Realistic Fiction
Realistic Fiction is a genre set in contemporary-ish times, about the lives and times of ordinary (or not-so-ordinary) people. It lacks the speculative elements of genres like fantasy and science fiction and is generally more plot-driven than Literary Fiction.
The Realistic Fiction forum is for writers in the real world, writing about the real world. It was known as Mainstream & Realistic Fiction until 2019.
Forum Description
"Like to keep it real? This is the home for plot-driven stories you can read in a single sitting. Real world, realistic people, realistic situations... but still fiction!" (2015-present)
"Story-driven, able to be gobbled up in a single transcontinental plane ride. May contain elements of some or all other genres."(???-2014)
