Plantser
A plantser is an author who combines planning and pantsing methods to prepare for their novel. Usually, people who claim to be this type of author enjoy how pantsing allows their creativity to strive more, however they plan some of it out so that it doesn't wander off into plotless ramblings that require intense revisions and rewrites when the draft is done.
Initially the third option was proposed as "percolator" in a blog post from 2012 [1] where the process is described as "let[ting] the drips of a story filter through my mind over a long period of time, letting it steam and swirl about without determining it." Plantsing is not as structured as plotting and can involve numerous aspects of worldbuilding, plotting, and character development without necessarily fully developing any one area.
