There was some interest in a Friends word crawl and since it's one of my all-time favorite shows, I felt compelled to make it! XD It's a shorter crawl than what I typically write, with a much smaller possible wordcount. I hope some of you find it helpful. :D

Free Cup of Coffee: Each Cup of Coffee gives you the energy to complete a task in half the time (or words)!. If you have to write 400 words, use the Cup of Coffee to only write 200 to complete the task. If you are meant to write for 5 minutes, now you only have to write for 2.5 minutes! Each Cup of Coffee can only be used once, so choose your tasks wisely!

You finish getting ready for your day and go downstairs to catch a cab. Roll a 2-sided die to determine the weather.

  • Rolled a 1: It’s clear skies and sunny! You have no problem catching a cab. Write 100 words and take 1 Free Cup of Coffee to help get you through a future task.
  • Rolled a 2: There’s a torrential downpour! Catching a cab is a nightmare! Do a Three Digits Challenge (up to 300 words) and take 1 Free Cup of Coffee to help get you through a future task.

 
Sprint for 5 minutes while you relax in the taxi on the way to work.

  • Less than 150 words: You get to work late. Write 150 words as you sneak in, hoping no one will notice.
  • 150 words or more: You get to work on time. Write for 1 minute while you settle in for your day.

 
You’re going about your day when, all of a sudden…

Chandler: …the computer network crashes and everyone is in a panic about whether or not the weekly numbers will be figured! Sprint for 5 minutes while you try to fix the problem.

  • Less than 150 words: You can’t fix it yourself & have to call in someone else which takes much longer and costs the company more money. Roll a 5-sided die & multiply that number by 100. Write that many words.
  • 150 words or more: Success! You have fixed the problem yourself. Write 50 words while you get on with your day.


Joey
: …your agent informs you that she forgot to tell you about an audition you have to be at as soon as possible! Sprint for 3 minutes as you hurry across town to the theater house.

  • Less than 100 words: You are late to the audition! Round your wordcount up to the nearest 500 while you suck up to the casting director.
  • 100 words or more: Whew! You have arrived just in time. Write 75 words while you catch your breath before going on stage to audition.


Monica
: …the health inspector drops by your restaurant for an unannounced visit! Sprint for 4 minutes as you rush around the kitchen, making sure it’s up to code!

  • Less than 125 words: The health inspector finds a small infraction. Write 250 words while you try not to freak out for being less than perfect.
  • 125 words or more: Your kitchen is perfect! Write 50 words as you pat yourself on the back for a job well done.


Phoebe
: …a client calls, wanting to cancel her appointment! Sprint for 5 minutes as you try to convince her not to cancel – you really need the money!

  • Less than 150 words: Despite your efforts, she cancels the appointment. Do a Three Digits Challenge (up to 400 words) while you scramble to make a new appointment to replace hers.
  • 150 words or more: You convince her to take the appointment. Write 50 words as you gladly prepare for the appointment.


Rachel
: …only half of the shipment of new seasonal dresses has come in! Sprint for 3 minutes while you get on the phone to rectify the situation.

  • Less than 120 words: The dresses are on backorder and will take at least another week to arrive. Roll a 5-sided die & multiply that number by 100. Write that many words while you explain the issue to your boss.
  • 120 words or more: It was just a mistake! You find the second half of the shipment which was simply misplaced by a coworker. Write 75 words while you breathe a sigh of relief.


Ross
: …you realize you forgot some of your lecture materials! Sprint for 4 minutes while you try to figure out what to do.

  • Less than 125 words: You fumble through the lesson, ultimately ending class early. Do a Three Digits Challenge (up to 500 words) while you hurry out of the classroom, embarrassed.
  • 125 words or more: You know the material forwards and backwards and have no problem continuing the lesson. Write 50 words as you wing it for the rest of the hour.


You get through your first challenge of the day. You are sailing through your work when…

Chandler: You make a sarcastic comment that annoys a coworker. Round your wordcount up to the nearest 500 while you awkwardly walk away.

Joey: You get into an argument with a fellow actor at the audition. Roll a 4-sided die & multiply by 100. Write that many words while you hope the casting director didn’t overhear.

Monica: You get distracted when someone hasn’t cleaned the counters properly, and the food burns. Do a Three Digits Challenge (up to 450 words) while you quickly cook a new order before anyone notices.

Phoebe: A client calls to say they aren’t satisfied with a massage you gave them. Write 250 words while you offer a free massage to make up for it.

Rachel: You spill something on your brand new dress. Do a Three Digits Challenge (up to 400 words) while you try to find something to cover the stain.

Ross: Your students are irritated when you give them a pop quiz. Roll a 4-sided die & multiply by 100. Write that many words while you try to ignore the rude comments your students make.

You’ve made it halfway through your work day and now it’s lunch time. Allow yourself a small break and then write 200 words.

You are back to work after your rejuvenating lunch.

Chandler: Your boss is impressed when you turn in your weekly report early. Roll a 3-sided die.

Joey: You head home early. Roll a 2-sided die.

  • Rolled a 1: You grab a beer from the fridge. Write 75 words as you celebrate your successful audition.
  • Rolled a 2: You are out of beer! Choose to Write 275 words or go across the hall in search of beer. If you go across the hall, Roll a 2-sided die:
    • Rolled a 1: Take one of Monica & Chandler’s beers! Move on.
    • Rolled a 2: Monica & Chandler are out of beer as well. Write 375 words.

 
Monica: A new review for your restaurant is out. Roll a 2-sided die.

  • Rolled a 1: The critic loves your restaurant and cooking. Write 100 words as you gloat proudly.
  • Rolled a 2: The critic left a horrible review. Choose to Write 250 words or call the critic to let him have it. If you call the critic, Roll a 2-sided die:
    • Rolled a 1: You convince him to change his mind and edit the review. Move on.
    • Rolled a 2: You only make it worse and now he’s going to write a second bad review. Write 375 words.

 
Phoebe: On your way home after an appointment, you spot a squirrel in distress. Roll a 2-sided die.

  • Rolled a 1: You help the squirrel. Write 75 words as you wave goodbye to what you assume is a very grateful squirrel.
  • Rolled a 2: The squirrel tries to bite you. Choose to Write 275 words or try to help the squirrel again. If you try to help the squirrel a second time, Roll a 2-sided die:
    • Rolled a 1: The squirrel accepts your help! Move on.
    • Rolled a 2: The squirrel bites you as you manage to help it. Luckily it only tore your sleeve, but you really liked that coat. Write 400 words!

 
Rachel: You flirt with the cute coworker and try to get a date. Roll a 2-sided die.

  • Rolled a 1: You get the date. Write 75 words as you play it cool.
  • Rolled a 2: You say something awkward and the guy seems less interested. Choose to Write 250 words or try to talk your way out of it. If you try to talk your way out of it, Roll a 2-sided die:
    • Rolled a 1: He thinks your awkwardness is cute & wants to take you out. Move on.
    • Rolled a 2: He is uninterested and turns you down. Write 400 words.

 
Ross: You are called in for a meeting about your position at the university. Roll a 2-sided die.

  • Rolled a 1: You have made tenure! Write 75 words as you thank your superiors profusely.
  • Rolled a 2: You haven’t made tenure this year. Choose to Write 275 words or try to change their minds about you. If you try to change their minds, Roll a 2-sided die:
    • Rolled a 1: They agree to consider your potential tenure once again. Move on.
    • Rolled a 2: They stand firm about their decision and hint that you may not make tenure next year either. Write 425 words.

 

It’s getting late in the day and you’re off work now. Write for 5 minutes while you enjoy your free time.

Chandler: On your way out of the building, you overhear coworkers talking about you. Write for 1 minute as you sneak closer to listen.

  • 50 words or more: They only have nice things to say about you. You leave the building smiling.
  • Less than 50 words: They think you are annoyingly sarcastic and make too many jokes. Roll a 3-sided die. Multiply that number by 100 and write that many words.


Joey
: You order a pizza. Write for 1 minute as you flirt with the delivery woman when she arrives.

  • 50 words or more: She flirts back and gives you her personal number.
  • Less than 50 words: She has too many deliveries to stay and flirt, and she leaves before you can turn on the charm. Roll a 3-sided die. Multiply that number by 100 and write that many words.

 
Monica: While at home, you decide to relax and clean. Write for 1 minute while you scrub the entire apartment from top to bottom.

  • 50 words or more: After an exhilarating cleaning job, the apartment is spotless! You relax on the couch, basking in the pristine living space.
  • Less than 50 words: You missed a spot! Roll a 3-sided die. Multiply that number by 100 and write that many words.

 
Phoebe: You go into the subway with your guitar. Write for 1 minute while you busk.

  • 50 words or more: The people are enjoying your quirky songs. You get a lot of tips and leave the subway happy.
