Tim Kim is the Managing Editor at the Office of Letters and Light. He first joined NaNoWriMo in 2007 as a participant before interning at OLL in 2009. He joined the OLL team in 2011 when Tupelo Hassman stepped down to devote herself to her soon-to-be published novel girlchild. [1]. At some point in 2012 Tim's title changed from Office Captain to Managing Editor.

If a participant emails NaNoWriMo's info@ address, the reply will likely be from Tim. He also coordinated 30 Covers, 30 Days in 2009 and 2011. When Tim joined the OLL staff as office captain, he admitted that his badge of shame was never having finished NaNoWriMo in his four years of participating. Despite this, he won in 2011.

Tim graduated from UCSD with a degree in literature. Before heading to the Bay Area, he worked a variety of jobs, including assisting a studio executive and chaperoning David Beckham's children. He has also worked with San Francisco magazine, WIRED magazine and CONDÈ Nast.[2] He is also the managing editor of Once Magazine.
