Social Media can refer to multiple things.

  • Online tools that let users create, share, and exchange information with others. This information can range from specific interests to pictures and videos.
  • A forum added in 2015 for the sharing and discussing of social media in relation to NaNoWriMo.

NaNoWriMo HQ uses social media sites as part of their official online presence, with activity on Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, Youtube, Instagram, and Pinterest. Both HQ and participants have participated in various social media events, such as Twitter chats and Project for Awesome.

Social Media forum on NaNoWriMo

The Social Media forum on the NaNoWriMo website is the place to connect with other Wrimos who use social media sites. Before the forum's creation in 2015, threads for various social media sites appeared in the Helpful Resources and Sites forum. Although not strictly considered social media, discussions and threads for other websites and protocols for socialization, such as Livejournal and IRC are also included.
