In May and June of 2010 Sarah also completed an internship as a practicum for a public relations diploma. During her internship she worked on NaNoWriMo outreach and public relations. She also gave [[Wrimo]]s and Screnziers a behind-the-scenes look of what goes on in the OLL office via OLL's various Twitter and Facebook accounts and a video tour of the new office<ref>Sarah Mackey. Sarah Mackey is National Novel Writing Month's Director of Community Engagement and one of NaNoWriMo's Canadian representatives. She has participated in and won NaNoWriMo since 2002 and has served as a Municipal Liaison for the Edmonton, Alberta region from 2003 until joining the NaNoWriMo staff. In 2008 she attended the Night of Writing Dangerously in San Francisco and talked to Chris Baty about working on some NaNoWriMo projects[1]. The next year Sarah joined the NaNoWriMo staff and worked on the Come Write In library outreach program and the Night of Writing Dangerously before officially joining the OLL staff as the Special Projects Manager in 2010. She replaced Nancy Smith as the Community Liaison in 2011[2].
