A NaNo Coach is a published author who encourages National Novel Writing Month participants via Twitter. Each NaNo Coach serves for a week, tweeting tips and answering questions from the official @NaNoWriMo Twitter account. Wrimos may ask questions using the hashtag #NaNoCoach. The coach's tweets are signed with the hashtag #NaNoCoach, while tweets from NaNo staff are signed #NaNoHQ or -HQ. At the end of their tenure, NaNo Coaches share their wisdom on the NaNoWriMo blog.
Since 2015, NaNoWriMo has worked with We Need Diverse Books to bring more diverse NaNo coaches and perspectives to the NaNo community.
