Chris Angotti is the current Young Writers Program director at the Office of Letters and Light. Before joining OLL, he earned a master's degree in English education from Teachers College at Columbia University[1] and taught middle school and high school English in New York City[2]. He then entered the world of educational nonprofits and joined OLL in July 2010. Chris had known about NaNoWriMo as far back as 2001 but has never previously participated prior to joining the OLL team.

When Chris was five, he wanted to be a game show host or an explorer. He also had a short-lived career as a rapper in fourth grade, which may fuel material for a future Script Frenzy. When he moved to Berkeley, he took a road trip that took him across fifteen states[2].

Due to the presence of two Chrises in the OLL office, the debate over how to differentiate between the two Chrises continues. The current (and confusing) favorite is to call Chris Baty Chris A. because he was there first and to call Chris Angotti Chris B.
