The bump thread is a NaNoWriMo forums thread where Wrimos attempt to bring the thread back to the top of the forum, thus increasing visibility. The thread name comes from the term "bump", which means to bring the page to the top of the list of threads by gratuitously posting.
This thread typically appears in the Games, Diversions, and Other Exciting Forms of Procrastination forum. It has been around since at least 2003.
